Downtown P-town down?

"We sold our 500-square-foot New York apartment, and with the money, we bought a house with a swimming pool, two cars, and had enough left to open a restaurant."

Excerpted from a recent NY Times "Dining Out" expose on Portland's culinary scene. Kinda makes you reevaluate that old EC a little bit. I'm well aware that none of us kids are working with real estate in Manhattan, but bring that quote down several notches on the income ladder and it reads more like this:

"We sold our [fixed gear bike, gigantic amplifier, pedal collection, blood], and with the money, we paid our rent for a year and had enough left to eat like the king of the farmers market and go to every show ever."

I'm just sayin.
